Pete Tong and The Heritage Orchestra postponed!

Rescheduled to Saturday 25th June 2022

New live act to be announced in due course to perform at this year’s Newcastle Racecourse’s Northumberland Plate Day, which continues to go ahead on Saturday 26th June 2021

In response to the Government’s recent release of their road map we have been working away behind the scenes to continue to deliver our Live After Racing schedule of events. Unfortunately, despite the planned reopening of large-scale events from 21st June, Pete Tong and The Heritage Orchestra’s Ibiza Classics Live After Racing performance at Newcastle Racecourse during the Saturday of the famous Northumberland Plate Festival will be rescheduled to Saturday 25th June 2022. Newcastle Racecourse’s Northumberland Plate Festival continues to go ahead as scheduled in 2021 with crowds and we are working hard with our Live After Racing team towards announcing the new live line up for the event.

Pete Tong and The Heritage Orchestra’s Ibiza Classics’ ground-breaking event includes a very large production involving a 65-piece orchestra, taking weeks of rehearsals to perfect the flawless show. Due to the scale of the concert, the safety of the crew and musicians is paramount and therefore the logistics involved with rehearsing this type of concert, with COVID-19 restrictions, prior to 21st June is not possible. Pete Tong & The Heritage Orchestra are therefore rescheduling all of their June dates, which unfortunately affects the Newcastle show.

Mark Spincer, Managing Director, ARC Racing Division comments:

‘We’re sorry to announce that due to the current public health situation, Pete Tong & The Heritage Orchestra’s live After racing performance at Newcastle Racecourse is being postponed and rescheduled for Saturday 25th June 2022. Whilst we understand that fans will be disappointed that this show will not be taking place after this year’s Northumberland Plate Day, we are certain it will be worth the wait. We can’t wait to welcome this spectacular performance of amazing musicianship, epic production and stunning visual effects to Newcastle Racecourse for what is sure to be a breathtaking event.

“In the meantime, we are confident that we’ll be able to secure another great live music act to keep our customers entertained after racing on Saturday 26thJune 2021, which continues to go ahead this year”.

Pete Tong said:

‘Myself and Jules Buckley are so excited to be bringing the orchestra and Ibiza Classics to Newcastle Racecourse in 2022. The past year has been so unpredictable, but we continue….and I guarantee this will be a night to remember, dust off your raving shoes!”
